"Don't our programmes, in the end, aim to cultivate individuals? I hope the conference will lead the donation and fundrasing from an individual to many, and from one-off to substantiality" (Hye Ran Yoon, Pulppuri Hope Fund, 2005 Magsaysay Award Winner)
"Often we feel that fundraising is the work only for activists. I think we should now turn donation and fundraising into a social concept." (Jin Sook Kim, Civil Society for Open Society)
Many nonprofit organizations talk about fundraising and worry about financial independence. But fundraising is not simply collecting money, but earning personal response and social support. The Beautiful Foundation has prepared the 1st Nonprofit Conference to talk about the problems of raising funds and change the understanding of fundraising with nonprofit organization activists from various areas and fields in Korea. The nonprofit conference was a good chance to think about how to communicate effectively with the public from the perspective of nonprofit organizations, of firms, of the public and of donors.
The 1st Nonprofit Conference
Two Hearts to Change the world
: New Paradigms of donation and fundraising created in partnership
between nonprofit organizations and citizens
The ten nonprofit activists from various fields, nine month preparation, a panel of over thirty professionals and activists. Grassroots fundraising, communication, PR, organization culture, firm-nonprofit partnership and one-to-one consulting made the conference a unique opportunity to offer realistic advice and inspiration for nonprofit organizations that wish to achieve substantiality and communication
