Kong Ban Jok
The Beautiful
Foundation publishes its newsletters online, as it is generally
the most cost-effective way to distribute information. Not
everyone has access to the Internet, though, and it is also
nice to have some tangible, printed material at times. To
accomplish this, the Beautiful Foundation publishes 'Kong
Ban Jok' (Half of a Bean) each month to discuss developments
within the Foundation and share stories of beautiful people.
'Kong Ban Jok' comes from an old Korean saying: "in times
of suffering, people must continue to share, even if only
half of a bean." Kong Ban Jok thus represents the sharing
sprit of ordinary people.
Kong Ban Jok is composed of articles about organizations and
individuals that are supported by the Beautiful Foundation,
the stories of donors, and the Beautiful Foundation's campaign
news and affairs. Readers contribute interesting stories,
pictures, and cartoons. Most readers are donors who subscribe
to the magazine, but subscription is open to everyone. You
can apply for a subscription through the website or by phone.
