Giving Korea was established in 2000 to report research on South Korean individual and corporate giving culture. The study regarding philanthropy by individuals is based on yearly research of Korean giving and volunteering, while the study of corporations is based upon data gathered to measure the contributions of Korean enterprises to public services. The studies on individual giving are reported on even-numbered years, while the corporate social responsibility reports are published on odd. The research data accumulated since its establishment show the trends in South Korea¡¯s philanthropic tendencies, and are widely used as the country¡¯s main giving index.
